About Cat Paw Games: Why I Started It
A small app with a big wish: happier, calmer indoor cats. ๐พ
Hello, I am ML Chua ๐พ
I am the founder of Cat Paw Games and a proud cat parent of two cats ๐ฑ๐ฑ. They are the real reason this app exists.
Why I started Cat Paw Games
So many cats today live indoors. They are safe and loved, but their days can feel a little too much the same. Watching my own two cats, I kept thinking about how strong the instinct to stalk, chase and pounce is and how much cats also love quiet, peaceful time to rest. I wanted indoor cats to have both.
So I set out to make one app that brings together fun play for indoor cats and calm music and videos for the moments in between. Tap games for the hunter in them. Gentle healing music for nap time. Relaxing scenes to watch from the sofa. Something to look forward to every day.
My cats try everything first, but every cat is different
My two cats try the games and scenes as I build them. ๐บ But as you know, every cat is different and no cat loves every game. Mine are big string fans, which is why more string games and Play Videos keep coming. Your cat might go wild for roaches, feathers or fish instead. Try a few with your own cat and see what they love.
The music my cats follow
I play the frequency music for my cats every day. We have a room that has become their cat room, where all their toys live and where they love to curl up and nap. Most of the time they roam all over the house. But whenever the cat frequency music starts playing (the very first music I created just for them), they find their way to that room, settle down and listen. ๐ต
Caring for a cat's mind, not just their body
Indoor cats are safe and loved, but they can get bored. I believe a happy routine includes a little play every day and some calm, gentle sound to rest to.
Research points the same way. A study in the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery by Hampton and colleagues at Louisiana State University found that cats listening to cat-specific music during vet exams showed lower stress scores than cats hearing classical music or silence (read the study). The AAFP and ISFM Feline Environmental Needs Guidelines also recommend daily play and environmental enrichment for indoor cats.
These findings show how much sound and play matter to a cat's wellbeing. So I went one step further. Instead of ordinary calming music, I created music built around healing frequencies, which sound therapy traditions believe can benefit all living beings, cats and humans alike. That is the heart of Cat Paw Games: play, frequency music and calm scenes, together in one place. ๐
What I care about
- Safe, short play sessions. A few minutes of good play beats a marathon and every session should end with a real toy and a cuddle.
- Gentle sound. Cats hear far more than we do, so music should be soft and sounds should be playful, never harsh.
- Honesty. I share sound therapy traditions with care and never make medical claims. Your vet always comes first.
Thank you
Thank you for letting Cat Paw Games be a small part of your days with your cat. If you have an idea, a question or a story about your cat, I would truly love to hear it through the contact page. ๐
